Great Imaginings'
Child Abuse Prevention Programs
Child Abuse Prevention Programs present children and adults with information
and awareness of potentially hurtful or abusive situations, as well as
strategies for coping with them. Discussion and role play of problematic
situations are key ingredients for helping participants to grasp the messages
and necessary techniques for dealing with such issues. Use of poster-size
illustrations, song, and poetry help add focus for not only young audiences,
but also adult groups.
Child Abuse Prevention Programs offered over the years include:
- Parent/Teacher Workshop:
"A 'Touching' Account: Victims of Abuse and What We Can Do"
- "Personal Safety & Healthy Living"
[preschool - kindergarten; 1st - 3rd grades]
- "What We Can Say and Do in Abusive Situations"
[4th - 6th grades]
