Dramatic Story Reading, Storytelling and Song
as Characters Come to Life

As the educator dramatically reads her story, Splunkunio Splunkey Detective and Peacemaker, Splunkunio Splunkey Detective and Peacemaker, Case One: The Missing Friendship Bracelet, Dr. Elana Ashley takes on the voices and characters of the storybook heroes and shows the illustrations to her young audience. When children with reading skills are in the audience, sometimes Ashley has slelected readers join her and take on the roles of the storybook characters. Following the reading, the storybook characters literally come to life as Ashley brings out the protagonists of the narrative - ventriloquist figures Ellie Elephant, Eli Elephant, and Splunkunio Splunkey® - who talk with the children about themes in the story,, recite poetry, tell stories and sing songs.
