Substance Abuse Prevention Programs
Substance Abuse Prevention Programs provide information and awareness
of drug related issues and problems. They instruct students and adults
about types and effects of drugs, decision-making/problem-solving skills,
drugs and peer pressure, drugs and the media; and other drug-related areas
of concern. Parent/Teacher workshops focus on drug information, social
influences promoting drug use; coping skills, intervention techniques,
community referral services; presentation techniques, and the making of
drug-related teaching materials.
Drug Education Programs offered over the years include:
- Drug-Free/Self-Esteem Assembly
[preschool - kindergarten; 1st - 3rd grades;
4th - 8th grades]
- One-Day Drug Education Programs
[preschool - kindergarten; 1st - 3rd grades;
4th - 8th grades; Adult In-Service]
- 3-Day/4-Day Primary Drug Education Series
[1st - 3rd grades]
- 4-Day Intermediate Drug Education Series
[4th - 6th grades]
- 8-Day Drug Education & Self-Esteem Training Series
[1st - 3rd grades; 4th - 6th
grades]
- Parent/Teacher Workshop: Substance Abuse - Awareness & Prevention
