"Within moments of my meeting Dr. Elana Ashley, we knew our meeting was meant to be. While on the outside we appeared very different -- Ashley, a human from Planet Earth; I, a splunk from Planet Onyx -- on the inside we shared the same goals and dreams. Our mission and passion are one and the same -- peace on planet earth. I am a Peace Maker and Spokespuppet® for Peace.

"So, together we began to build a web site. We started Splunkey’s Friendship Club [SFC], a club for children, families, educators, and interested adults who live throughout the globe and who want to bridge the gaps of communication through the internet. We want the youth and adults who live throughout planet earth to learn about and get to know each other, and develop international friendships.

"Through SFC, we want to give members the opportunity to link with other individuals, families, communities, and nations throughout the globe to make this world a safer and healthier place in which to live, work, love, and play. We believe in a world of people supporting each other - supporting their talents and the achievement of their dreams. We want to live in a world which promotes literacy, creativity, cooperation, friendship and peace.

"The roots of these basic ideas are sewn into the fabric of my web site and appear throughout the programming that I present with Dr. Ashley for children, families, teachers, and other interested adults.

"My web site is designed for parents [grandparents/guardians/older siblings] to read to and with young children – helping adults and children bond with one another with a common set of values and standards for ethical living. We encourage adults and educators to model these ethical standards in their actions and words.

"My web site is also designed for young children. They can find a special section of the web site designed for themselves called Just for Splunkey's Kids -- a special place to go to where they can feel safe and free, where they can be themselves, where they can let their minds explore ideas and feelings, where they can play cool games, where they can learn about the importance of respecting differences and working together, where they can learn about friendship and peace.

"Dr. Elana Ashley and I had some ideas for writing a book. So, together we wrote a story about my first, mystery adventure on Planet Earth.  I help two young children to solve the disappearance of a birthday gift and resolve their threatened friendship.  Then, we decided to make the book into a bililngual reader in English and Spanish so that more children, parents and teachers could not only enjoy the mystery adventure, learn some of the important messages, and have fun roleplaying the situations that the storybook characters act out, but also can learn to read English and Spanish.  Here is the front cover of the bilingual reader:

"The translation is written in a beautiful Spanish - very simple and expressive, combining 'proper' language with conversational usage. The bilingual reader is great for people of all ages who want to learn to read Spanish or English or both.. The bilingual version of the book continues to be a wonderful resource for teaching its readers strategies to deal with daily issues in their lives - issues regarding relationships, resolving conflicts, open communication and other peace-making skills.
